“This month I really wanted to dive in and talk to my kids about New Year’s resolutions! I printed out papers that had a list of questions for a few of my kiddos to fill out and sign at the bottom. I explained to them what a New Year’s resolution is: a goal a person has that they want to achieve for the New Year or something you want to change to make yourself better. I told them these resolutions can be in the classroom or outside of the classroom. The answers I got back brought me joy! Some of the students wanted to have better grades while others wanted to be a better friend. Watching my students make their own goals made me want to make goals for myself! Not only am I checking to see if they are promising to keep their New Year’s resolutions, they are making sure I am staying honest to my New Year’s resolutions, too.”
